Jeep will digitally unveil the Compass facelift at a global event on June 4, 2020. The Compass which will receive a mid-cycle update will only come to India next year. As per reports, the updated Compass will get cosmetic changes as well as newer equipment.
The upcoming Compass facelift is expected to get various cosmetic changes. The new Compass will get a revised front-end with sleeker LED headlights, all-new front and rear bumpers, and honeycomb-like inserts inside the grille. However, the overall silhouette and design will remain the same.
The Compass facelift will get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Jeep's UConnect 5 operating system that makes use of an eSIM for connected car tech. This new system comes with integrated Amazon Alexa support and wireless AppleCarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and it can also receive remote updates. The updated Compass will also receive subtle changes inside the cabin.
The mechanicals will remain the same in the India-spec Compass facelift. The compact SUV will continue to be offered with a choice between two engine options - a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and the other a 2.0-litre diesel engine. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed automatic for the petrol model, while the diesel model will be offered with a nine-speed automatic instead of the seven-speed unit.
The Compass facelift will take on the likes of MG Hector, Skoda Karoq, Tata H5 and the new Hyundai Tucson among others in the Indian market. Jeep is also expected to roll out a 7-seater SUV based on the Compass.
